“Be who God meant you to be
and you will set the world on fire!”
St Catherine of Siena
These words were spoken at the Royal Wedding so many millions over our globe watched on the feast of Catherine of Siena this yearThis is what we long for, for the royal couple and for every couple and every individual on this earth. It is what so many of us are working for and what Bohareng stands for.
During these two months we have experienced all four of the seasons. Our avocado pear tree is full of blooms while the last season’s avos are ripening and the azalea bush outside of the conference room is a splash of colour giving a feeling of spring to our wintery garden.
The individuals and groups who have come to Bohareng during these two month reflect something of the same variety and abundance. We hope and we trust that each one has grown more fully into what she or he is called to be. The inner growth is not always apparent and yet for those who experience new inner freedom, or new confidence as they walk their path in life it is as real as the blue sky above us and the firm earth beneath us.
One of the events that brought new enthusiasm and life to us was the biennial meeting of women involved in human and spiritual growth work. Together we celebrated summer and the fire of creation and we prayed in the words of John O’Donohue:
“As short as the time from spark to flame,
so brief may the distance be between heart and being.
May courage cause our lives to flame,
in the name of fire,
and the flame
and the Light.”
There was a significant meeting of the core team of Bohareng on 8 April. Together we looked at the future of Bohareng, as both Ann and Rosella have decided it is time for them to leave. They will continue with healing, retreat and direction work and will support Bohareng should others choose to run it. As the work is going well and Bohareng is ideally situated for it, we are making an all out effort to find two people who would like to run the centre. We ask you all to help us in this search and also to support us with your prayer.
May we all rejoice in being fully who we really are!
