A Short History of Bohareng

Bohareng is the fruit of many women wanting a centre to promote an integrated spirituality based on the Christian tradition and answering the needs of our times. Different groups met in April 2001, July 2002 and March 2003 to discern and plan for its establishment. In June 2003, thanks to the generosity of those who support the venture, the deed of sale for the present house was signed and on 1 September we moved in and began preparing for all we wanted to do there.

To network with others who share our values, irrespective of creed, gender, race or sex.
To contribute towards gender equality by empowering women.
To form integrated communities for the transformation of society.
To create the space for people to share stories and dream together.
To facilitate personal & human development and deep ecology.
To release energy for life.
To provide opportunities for the care and building of people serving in hospice or homecare situations.
To provide opportunities for women to worship together in creative and inclusive ways.
